Solana AI Tokens Look to Mount Comeback

Remnants of the late 2024 to early 2025 AI agent meta are rebounding off their lows as altcoin action picks up.

Nearly six months after the LIBRA scandal that rocked Solana’s on-chain ecosystem, some of the AI agent tokens that launched during AI-mania are putting in strong gains.

Among a broader altcoin rally over the weekend, the AI agent comeback is being led by smaller-cap AI agent token SwarmNodeai (SNAI), which is up nearly 230% over the last week, and 52% over the last 24 hours.

Heurist’s HEU token is also rallying, up 75% this week and 23% over the last 24 hours, and GRIFFAIN is up 22% over the last seven days as well.

AI Leaders Down

While these smaller-cap assets — which mostly represent agentic AI-related products with associated tokens — are doing well, the AI agent meta’s leaders, such as AI16Z, GOAT, and VIRTUAL, are struggling today.

AI16Z is down 10% today, while Virtuals Protocol’s VIRTUAL is down 5% and GOAT is down 4%, indicating that traders are moving small amounts of speculative capital back into some of the aforementioned tokens that were heavily beaten down over the last half year.

It is also worth noting that despite the strong performers in the AI agent scene over the last week, the tokens are still down massively off their all-time highs.

SNAI is down 90% from its $130 million market capitalization high, GRIFFAIN is down 93% from its $625 million high, and HEU is down 77% from its $460 million high.

The recent price action among small-cap AI agent tokens may also be contributing to positive sentiment surrounding the pumpfun ecosystem, as these tokens were originally launched via the memecoin launchpad. PUMP is one of today’s top altcoin performers, up over 16% today and nearly 23% on the week.
